Abstract

If there is to be effective co-operation between company directors and stakeholders to produce profitable business, developing trust between parties is essential. Good communication is vital in fostering that trust. What are the communications challenges for major corporations going forward? How do the legal corporate form and the international reach of corporate groups affect stakeholder and public expectations? How are high standards of reporting to be ensured? Who needs to be involved in the corporate communications process? What are the responsibilities of directors and executives in making communication trustworthy? What is the role of regulation? This article will consider all of these questions and highlight relevant literature.
